Le Coq Sportif (French pronunciation: [lə kɔk spɔʀtif], "The Athletic Rooster") is a French company producing sports equipment such as shoes, shorts, T-shirts, and sweat suits. It was founded in 1948 by Émile Camuset, although Camuset had been designing for many years prior. The company's name derives from the Gallic rooster, a national symbol of France.
