Venini is one of the oldest continually operating glass makers in Murano a small island in the Venice lagoon, Murano is well known for its glass makers with glass making being associated with Murano since the thirteenth century. The Venini Battuti vase is made using the Battuto (beaten) technique in which shallow irregular cavities are created on the surface after the glass has cooled following blowing. The Venini Battuti vase is available exclusively from Venini stores and each vase is unique as each is handblown and treated.
